Luke 5: 11                 Jesus understood the power of influence when he was on earth. He displayed this while choosing the twelve disciples that would work together with him. Have you ever asked why there were many fishermen among his disciples? The major profession of the people in Galilee is fisherman, it is close to the sea and this make so many of them to engage in fishing. The fishermen have contact with all the people in the town because they engaged in commercial activities. The fishermen were known people and have great influence in Galilee.                     The fishermen left all including their influence to follow Christ and God rewarded them greatly.  Jesus need your influence to spread the gospel to the unbelievers.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2020  TEXT: 1 KINGS 12: 25 - 33 TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE (6) KEY VERSE: 1 KINGS 12:28 Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.                      The power of influence cannot be overemphasized and some have defined leadership as influence. If leadership is influence then we need to see it as Stewardship that we will give account of or else it will be abused.                     Jeroboam was the first king of Northern kingdom of Israel. He was a man of influence, creative, skilful, understanding and political acumen. Solomon recognized this and made him head of his labour force for the tribe of Joseph.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD FRIDAY 23RD OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: ACTS 17:1-4 TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE (5) KEY VERSE: ACTS 17:4  Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few prominent women.                  Stewardship of influence is using your position and resource attach to it for the kingdom of God. The gospel of Christ relies on how we can use our Stewardship of influence effectively for the advancement of God's kingdom on earth.                  Paul in his missionary journeys met quite a number of influential people especially in  Macedonia where he was led to in a vision. He  experienced great persecutions in  Macedonia. He was jailed there and faced several oppositions there. In  Macedonia he met men and women of influence like Damaris, Lydia, Dionysius who believed the gospel, get converted and served God faithfully. These people later became great financial support and help to his ministry as they will

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD THURSDAY 22ND OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: JOHN 4: 39-43 TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE  KEY VERSE:JOHN 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.              Stewardship of influence is the ability to use your position to  draw people within you to your convictions.                 The Samaritan woman heard the gospel, she believed and she went around telling people about her new found faith.  Listening to her probably shows that they have had contact with her before that time. Though she was reputed to have five husband previously and presently cohabiting with the present husband. She still have a kind of influence that made people to listen to her. Jesus did not go to just any person in Samaria but this particular woman, he broke cultural Boundaries and took his time to explain the gospel to this woman.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD WEDNESDAY 21ST OCTOBER 2020 TEXT : Esther 4: 1-17 TOPIC : STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE (3) KEY VERSE Esther 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.                 Stewardship of influence is rising to act on behalf of the course of your people even when you are not directly affected by their situation. It is speaking out and identifying with your people in crucial time of need.           Esther was a Queen in the nation where her people were enslaved and her people were about to be exterminated by a satanic edict.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD TUESDAY 20TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: EXODUS 1 : 15 - 21  TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE (2) KEY VERSE:EXODUS 1:21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.                  Stewardship of influence is choosing to do what is right for the benefit of others without compromising for money wealth or fame.                 Puah and Shiphrah were professional midwives and probably head of midwives team in the city. The king wanted her to kill maie Hebrew children at birth.This could have been opportunity for them to be wealthy in life but they turned down the offer. They spared the lives of the male Hebrew children and medically talked the king out of it .  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD MONDAY 19TH OCTOBER 2020 TEXT: NEHEMIAH 2: 1-9 TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP OF INFLUENCE (1) KEY VERSE: Nehemiah 2:5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.                  Stewardship of influence is simply maximizing your role to honor God in such a way that heaven and earth will rejoice.                      Nehemiah was highly placed in the kingdom, he had first contact with the king as a result of his role in the kingdom. He was living comfortably but still burdened about his people in Jerusalem who were suffering and vulnerable to attacks due to broken walls of the city. He lost his peace and went to God in prayer.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SUNDAY 18TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: DANIEL: 1 :11-20 TOPIC: PEER INFLUENCE(7) KEY VERSE: DANIEL 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.                    Peer influence exert a pressure on you to do what naturally you may not be able to do. It is an external drive that propel you to act out what you may not have done if you are on your own.                      Daniel had influence on his friends and they both purported in their minds not to defile themselves with the King's meal and the outcome was that they were ten times better than their colleagues. When Daniel was sent on an official assignment and the king commanded that  all must bow to his statue. Because of this, the wrath of the LORD is upon you.                Peer influence is not limited to children teenagers and youths. It cut across all age groups it is the ability to affect people through associating with them. That is why an English proverb says " Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are"             What could make a King that loved God  associated himself with Ahab that hated righteousness? Probably because he wanted peace to reign between his domain (Southern kingdom) and the Northern Kingdom where Ahab ruled. When Judah had recovered from his grief, he went up to Timnah, to the men who were shearing his sheep, and his friend Hirah the Adullamite went with him.               Peer influence erode values, beliefs and make you conform to strange practices which you abhor. It does not happen at an instant and that is why so many people are victims of peer influence. Peer influence is just like water eroding a rocky surface. Taking a step forward and two steps backward is an evidence of mixed associations in life. Who are your friends?  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD TUESDAY 13TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: 1 KINGS 12:1-10  TOPIC: PEER INFLUENCE (2) KEY VERSE :1 KINGS 12:8  But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.                  Counsel of peers usually make sense to us because they appeal to our emotions and stir us up for actions immediately unlike the counsel of Aged or elderly which are usually slow, soft and always give us a time to ponder, open our eyes to see consequences of our actions. Age usually comes with experience and as a result of this they have seen similar situations from experience and know what could be done to avoid a repitition but peers are usually short sighted and may not think beyond the box. TOPIC: PEER INFLUENCE (1)               Influence is the power to affect someone either positively or negatively. As humans we have influence on one another and one of the great influence in social relationships is peer influence. Peers are usually of the same age brackets, they are closed to each other and are often faced with the same life challenges. TOPIC: CHOICES (7)                It is easier to say I am for Christ until you find yourself in a situation when you will have to make a choice of whether to stand with Christ or with the world.                The people had to choose whether they would serve the Lord who had proven his faithfulness or obey the man made gods in their environs. It is easy to ignore God when you become occupied with job and material things of this world. The choice is yours to decide who and what controls your heart. Will it be God, money, fame or position? If it is God you have to heed to his Spirit in your daily walk with him.  Prayer: Father I choose to serve

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: MATTHEW 9:9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. TOPIC: CHOICES (6)              The most important choice you will ever make is choosing to follow Christ regardless of what you may see in your relationship with him. The choice becomes difficult because following Christ must cost you something.               When Jesus called Matthew to follow him he obeyed instantly. Following him cost him his lucrative job and his comfort. He left all and chose Christ without looking back again. Such choices can be painful and difficult but it usually pay in the long run.  Choose Christ, and you will experience joy and peace regardless of what may come your way.  Prayer: Father help me to abide in my choice and decision to follow you for the rest of my life in Jesus name. 

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD FRIDAY OCTOBER 9TH 2020 TEXT: RUTH 1: 6 - 16 TOPIC: CHOICES (5) KEY VERSE: RUTH 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:                Every good choice open door for greatness. It stabilizes and secures a life unlike bad choices which follow the same pattern but in the opposite direction.                  Esther had a choice to either stayed with her people in Moab, remarried and settled there. She chose to follow her mother in law to a strange land without knowing the future ahead of her. God honored her choice and made her a wife to a great and famous man in the land. She also birthed Obed the grandfather of David.                The genealogy of Christ would not be completed without mentioning Ruth the moabite woman. Before you make life choices ask yourself "will it honour God"

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2020 TEXT: JUDGES 14:1-4 TOPIC: CHOICES (4) KEY VERSE: Judges 14:3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.                 We make hundreds of choices every day. Most choices have no right or wrong attached to them like what you eat or drink. But their are weighty choices that determine our destiny in life. We do not want to get it wrong because getting it wrong have great consequences that can mar one's life. One of such decisions is marital choices.        Samson was reputed to be the strongest man that ever lived on earth. He was greatly anointed by God to do exploits and he was raised by godly parents. Samson's downfall started at the point of making choices, he was moved by sight and not by the Spirit.

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD WEDNESDAY 7TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: GENESIS 13:5-13 TOPIC: CHOICES (3) KEY VERSE: GENESIS 13:11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.      He was an orphan, his uncle took great care of him right from the demise of his father. He was responsible for his upkeep, he fathered him through and being a shepherd he trained him and made him. In the process of time they were both rich in cattle that the land could not contain them. Constant fights ensued between herders of Nephew and uncle. Uncle called him and reminded him that they were kinsmen and such things should not be heard among them. He gave him the privilege to choose grazing land so that their would not be interference and conflicts. The nephew looked around and chose the best grazing land for himself without considering interest of uncle. Uncle decided to let go, he gave up his rights for the sake of peace.          Our attitud

We make choices everyday. Whatever success we have achieved thus far has been a product of our choices.                 The question often ask in a Bible study class is "Why would God place a tree in the garden and then restrain Adam from eating it"? The answer to it is simply God wanted Adam to obey. Without choices men become caged. Adam would have been like a prisoner without the power of choice and his obedience would have been robotic.                  We are always face with choices in every day life.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER 2020 TEXT: GENESIS 2:15-17  TOPIC: CHOICES (1) KEY VERSE: GENESIS 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.                God do not create humans as robots who cannot make choices but he give us power to choose between right and wrong. We are responsible for the consequences of our choices.                God committed the responsibility of keeping the garden to Adam and instructed him not to feed on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God have the sovereign power to hinder Adam from eating but rather he gave him a choice which make it possible for him to choose wrongly.              God is still giving us power to make choices today and we usually choose wrongly.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:10-13 TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (7) KEY VERSE: For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 1 Phil 4:11             Contentment is a deliberate decision to be satisfied without having all what you want. We find contentment when we realized that the things of this world cannot satisfy us or make us happy.      God assure us that he will meet our needs and not our wants. There is a thin line difference between want and needs. The want are numerous while the needs are basics. Contentment is to be satisfied with the basics : food, shelter and clothing. You cannot find contentment in the stuff you collect or on the conditions around you. True Contentment is found in knowing God, prioritizing him above earthly possessions and total dependence on him.  Prayer: Father teach me how to be satisfied in every circumstance in Jesus name. 

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY OCTOBER 3RD 2020 TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 6:3-20 TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (6) KEY VERSE: But godliness with Contentment is a great gain. 1 Tim 6:6           Many people believe that money bring satisfaction and happiness. If money brings happiness, the rich people will be the happiest people on earth but the rich also cry and are not satisfied with their riches like Oliver twist they want more riches.                  Billy Graham said that "If a person gets his attitude towards money straight, It will help straighten out almost every other area in his life"  We find contentment in life when we discover that wealth is of God and he gives it to people according to his will. You do not chase money, you chase God and whatever wealth he gives you be contented with it. Chasing wealth may get you trapped into foolish and harmful desires that can lead to ruin and destruction.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD FRIDAY 2ND OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 12:1-8 TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (5) KEY VERSE: 2 SAMUEL 12:8 And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.             Contentment is to be satisfied with what you have gotten, It is found in God alone, outside God man cannot find satisfaction for his soul.              David had many beautiful wives but covetousness and lust made him slept with Bathseba and perfected a murder to kill her husband. God confronted him through Nathan and said " I gave you your master's house and his wives and the kingdom of Israel and Judah.  DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD THURSDAY 1ST OCTOBER, 2020 TEXT: 1 KINGS 21: 1-10 TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (4) KEY VERSE :1 KINGS 21:6 And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.                 He was a King and resided in Samaria the capital city of Northern Israel. He was rich, comfortable and wealthy. He had many vineyards but preferred a common man's vineyard with an excuse that his vineyard was closer to his palace. He lost his peace because the man refused to sell or took another in exchange for his father's inheritance. His wife saw his countenance, arranged the death of the man and told him to go over and possessed his vineyard .
