CHOICES (4)

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD

THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2020

TEXT: JUDGES 14:1-4

TOPIC: CHOICES (4)

KEY VERSE: Judges 14:3

Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.

We make hundreds of choices every day. Most choices have no right or wrong attached to them like what you eat or drink. But their are weighty choices that determine our destiny in life. We do not want to get it wrong because getting it wrong have great consequences that can mar one's life. One of such decisions is marital choices.

Samson was reputed to be the strongest man that ever lived on earth. He was greatly anointed by God to do exploits and he was raised by godly parents. Samson's downfall started at the point of making choices, he was moved by sight and not by the Spirit. His parents called his attention to the word of God that it was wrong to  marry from a pagan nation but it did not make sense to him.

Critical choices like who to marry must not be made without considering what God is saying and what others are saying. The "others" can be your parents, spiritual fathers or accountability partners. You can be blinded by emotions but it will be difficult for others to be blinded too. For Samson it was his parents that called his attention to his wrong choice but he did not yield to them which eventually led to his downfall. When faced with critical choices, talk to God in prayer and watch out for what others are saying too.

Prayer: Father help me not to make wrong choices that will mar my destiny in Jesus name.
