TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 13: 1-5

KEY VERSE: 2 SAMUEL 13:5

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

TOPIC: PEER INFLUENCE (1)

Influence is the power to affect someone either positively or negatively. As humans we have influence on one another and one of the great influence in social relationships is peer influence. Peers are usually of the same age brackets, they are closed to each other and are often faced with the same life challenges. As a result of this the clever and smarter ones always have a way of influencing the weak and vulnerable ones.

Amon was the first child of David, a heir to the throne, he was  sexually obsessed with her half sister and he consulted his cousin Jonadab  who happened to be his confidant and friend. He encouraged him and gave him detailed demonic strategies on how  to gratify his lust. This action brought shame to his father's dynasty and cost him his life.

Bad advice will always come especially when you are at a cross road and at times it is usually from the people that are closest to you. Take responsibility for the advice you heed to  by evaluating it with the word of God which is the standard and you will save yourself from dangers of taking wrong advices.

Prayer : Father in your mercies help me not to be a victim of wrong advice in Jesus name.
