The law stipulated that the elder brother gets double portion of the estate. This means if there are three hundred houses to be shared among the two. The three hundred houses will be divided into 3 portions.  The elder brother will get 2 portions of the estate which is 200 houses  and the younger brother will get one portion which is 100 houses. The elder brother was greedy, he wanted all for himself without sharing it with his brother. This is uncommon, Jesus was sought after

And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.         Contentment is not base on the amount of wealth we have. He served him faithfully, position in a way to succeed his master, he witnessed great dealings of God through Elisha, he enjoyed his influence until he became dissatisfied with the simplicity of his master and used his influence to amass wealth from General Naaman who had sought healing from the God of Israel. Matt 20:14a              Contentment is to be satisfied and happy with what you have without envying or resenting what others have.              In the text, the servant was not happy about his pay check. He felt there was no fair remuneration . "If he had been working since early hours of the day, how come will he collect the same pay with someone that joined at five pm". The owner of the Estate did not go into unnecessary explanation about his actions because he is the owner of the Estate and have the power and right to do what he wants with his money. He only told the servant you agreed to work for a denarius per day, take your paycheck and go.                   The disgruntled workers had been happy and satisfied until they started poke nosing into their colleagues pay checks. They became jealous and resentment set in. When you fail to be cont

" Elijah was expecting God to pity his condition. God was not moved by his story. He told him to stand before the mountain and right there he saw different revelations of God. Again he asked him "what are you doing here"? He repeated the same story and God told him to get back to work. God made Elijah realized that he was not the only one doing it right but there are others there who have not bowe

Rising from depression is not enough. You have to eat. What to eat is the word of God. The word of God gives life, strength and hope. Whatever the depression, God have a word for you, hold on to the word, confess it, memorize it, ponder on it every moment and gradually you are moving out of that depression. As humans we at times trivialize certain things which if it had been put on check it would not have generated into a big issue.           Jesus emphasizes the evil of handling anger with levity. He stunned his audience when he said "anyone who is so much as angry with a brother or sister is guilty of murder". It was not stated in the Law that "You shall not get angry" but "You shall not murder. If anger is handle well, there may not be cause for murder. Work

Do not push your way to the top

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD THURSDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:1-4 TOPIC: DO NOT PUSH YOUR WAY TO THE TOP  KEY VERSE : Phi 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.                Jesus followed the path of humility to the fulfillment of his destiny. Knowing the right opportunities calls for discernment which is the ability to see with your inner eyes that this is your opportunity and seizing it.               In a world of many opportunities around how will I know that this is my opportunity and making the best use of it? This requires sensitivity to the spirit of God in you and the best way to cultivate that is daily walk with God. When you walk with the Lord, in the light of his word You will be sensitive to know the opportunity that belongs to you and the opportunity that does not belong to you which can cause havoc to your destiny. Your ambition is important to God (1)

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT: EPHESIANS 5: 15-17 TOPIC: YOUR AMBITION IS IMPORTANT TO GOD (1) KEY VERSE : Eph 5:17  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.         What will you become in life? How you will become it in life? These questions are highly important to God  if you are willing to seek him and find them out. God owns your life, He knows everything about you and he is ever willing to help you.            Do not be unwise by following the dictate of your mind, do not venture into a business because others are doing it and they are making it. You may try it and you may fail woefully. Be wise, what God is telling you to do may be unpopular, and you can't even think of anyone that does it and make it in your vicinity. The more you think of it, the more it does not make sense to you. It is wisdom for you to go on your knees and ask God what do you want to make out of my life. He will surely answer you because your ambi

BE A WISE BUILDER

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SUNDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT: MATTHEW 7: 24-27  TOPIC: BE A WISE BUILDER  KEY VERSE: Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:                 There are two builders, the wise and the foolish builder. The foolish builder did not take his time to dig through the soil before erecting a foundation, eventhough he uses best materials, the building will crumbles when the storm comes but the wise builder is smart, he spent extra time digging through the soil before laying the foundation and erecting a house. Such a house will not crumble when storm comes.                Jesus uses the allegory of wise and foolish builder to round off his teaching on the mount, To build on a solid rock means to be a hearing and doing Christian while the one that builds on a sand also hear the word of God but fail to put it into practice. Both audience seem to be fine until when c

DO NOT JUST WORK FOR GOD BUT WALK WITH HIM

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT:MATTHEW 7 :21 - 23 TOPIC: DO NOT JUST WORK FOR GOD BUT WALK WITH HIM KEY VERSE: Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.            There is a great difference between working for someone and walking with someone. Working for someone is just to receive a reward but walking with someone requires a relationship. Religious people boast in their work for God, they believe their fasting, prayer, and alms giving can give them eternal life. They are zealously religious but lost. They do not have relationship with Christ that will bring about a change of their heart which will make them to do the good works driven by their love and devotion to Christ.             Your good works cannot take you to heaven if you do not have a personal relationship with Christ. Your work for Christ cannot be accepted because he does not know you. Do you have an encounter with Christ that bring

Beware of False Preachers

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT:MATTHEW 7: 15 - 20 TOPIC: BEWARE OF FALSE PREACHERS KEY VERSE: Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.                It is hard to know the false preachers from the true because the heart of a man is very deceitful and only God can knows it. Men can be fooled by the anointing, miracles, signs and wonders but God cannot be fooled because he knows the heart.            Beware of those preachers who are driven by money, fame or power. They talk too much about themselves than Christ in their messages. Do not be impressed with charisma, look for character. The personality of a Preacher is the main thing and not what they say. A genuine preacher will never exploit your emotions or your pay check. If their lives does not align with what they preach, stay away from them, they are false and marked for destruction by God if they do not repent. Prayer: Father hel

No shortcuts to God

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2020 TEXT: MATTHEW 7: 13-14 TOPIC: NO SHORTCUTS TO GOD KEY VERSE : Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:            There are so many ways in this world but it is only one way that leads to God which is narrow. It is the path of life, It is vigorous, requires total attention and only few find it.                   The easy way is highway to hell, it requires no effort, it is wide enough to take anybody, It is the path of death because sinners abound on it and Devil is the master of those that go through it. They enjoy the pleasure of sin, they reject the path of life thinking that they are doing it right but the end of it is destruction.                Conciously or unconsciously you are either walking on the path of life or on highway to destruction. It is a choice that have eternal consequences. It is either you choose l

The key to the kingdom

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER, 2020 TEXT: MATTHEW 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. TOPIC: The key to the Kingdom The teachings of Christ on the mount centered on the kingdom of God, more especially on the ethics and demands of the kingdom of God. Here again he simplified the kingdom of God to "Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it to them". This is also known as golden rule it is hinge on the commandment:" thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself ".       If our ways are not right with men, our ways may not be right before God. Being devoted to God and evil to men portray us as Hypocrites, and does not give us good reputation among men. Some have changed the Golden rule to fit their way of living as " Don't do to others what you don't want done to you" It is not difficult to resist from
