Do not despise God's goodness

Daily insight with God Wednesday 1st July, 2020 Text: Romans 2:1-4  Topic: Do not despise God's goodness Key verse: or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; Rom 2:4a (KJV)            The goodness of God is his kindness to us all. His goodness is so rich that those that rejected his way of salvation will not be exempted and they assumed that they were better off than those who are believers of God not knowing that God's goodness to them is his love for them and expect them to repent from their sins so that they can enjoyed him to the fullest.             Paul said God's goodness should not be taken for granted or look down on because God's goodness, forbearance and longsuffering does not mean that he is weak or satisfied with our unrighteous deeds. God is only giving us a long time to consider our ways, do that which is right and turn away from the old ways which is sin and evil to him Prayer: Father help me not to take your goodnes

The goodness of God (2)

Daily insight with God Tuesday 30th June, 2020 Topic: God's goodness (2) Text: Psalm 33:5              The goodness of God does not fail because of his love for us. His promises can be trusted because he is God, creator, saviour, deliverer and he is worthy of our praise.             The psalmist had discovered in his walk with God that God is faithful to his word and is dependable. In the trials of life he had seen the hand of God delivering him, leading him and giving him victory. Wherever the psalmist turned to, he saw God's goodness in action. Nothing meet God unaware, he is always ready to show his goodness to those that fear and trust him completely             God's goodness is all around us despite the raging evil. God in his goodness have preserved his own people from the evil of these world and he constantly watch over them without taking his eyes off them. Not all people enjoy God's goodness except those who fear him and revere him in the way they live their li

The goodness of God (1)

Daily insight with God Monday 29th June, 2020 Text:  Exodus 18:1-9 Topic: The goodness of God (1) Key verse: And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel. Ex 18:9a              God is good all the time. His goodness is seen in his nature, attitude and acts toward humanity. God's goodness is the reason why we are still alive and his goodness is what we look forward to experience on a daily basis.             Jethro the in law of Moses heard about the goodness of God to Moses and to Israel. He knew the story of Israel, he knew that they have been under the tyranny and enslavement of a powerful nation called Egypt. Hearing that a nation came out of Egypt and were established was a news too good to believe. He actually came with his daughter and children and on seeing everything God had done he rejoiced with Moses and the nation.           God's goodness is what people we see, marvel and celebrate with you. It calls for rejoicing and amazement because

Showing God kindness to others (3)

Daily insight with God Sunday 28th June, 2020 Text: Acts 28:1-10 Topic: Showing God's kindness to others (3) Key verse: The Islanders showed us unusual kindness Acts 28:2a          God's kindness is being there for people when they are in great need. It is simply meeting the pressing need of people. It takes someone with the heart of God to care for someone the way he wants to be treated                The Islanders showed unusual kindness to Paul and his team. They have never met them before but they were sensitive to their needs. They provided shelter, fire to keep them warm and food for them.          Their kindness to Paul and his team attracted blessings to the whole land. They ministered healing to those that were sick there and they got their healing. Whatever kindness you do to others, you have really done it for yourself. Do not withhold kindness from those that are really in need of it and be sensitive to the needs of thos around you.  Prayer: Father Let your spirit o

Daily insight with God Saturday 27th June, 2020 Text: 2 kings 5:1-4,13-14 Topic: Showing God's kindness (2) Key verse: She said to her mistress, "If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy." 2 kings 5:3               Kindness is offering counsel, and advice to people who are in great need. Kindness is willingness to share information that can be of benefit and comfort to someone .              A young girl who was taken captive from Israel told her mistress, the wife of Namman that there is a God in Israel who can cure her husband of leprosy.she was not embittered by her present condition but still showed kindness to the household of Naaman by revealing to them that there is a God in Israel who can cure the leprosy disease. Naaman went to Israel and he was instructed to go and wash in Jordan River, he was humiliated, his ego was punctured but his servants also showed kindness to him by telling him to obey afterall he will o

Showing God's kindness (1 )

Daily insight with God Thursday 26th June, 2020 Text: Luke 10:29-37 Topic: Showing God's kindness to others(1) Key verse: But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. Luke 10:33            Kindness is love in action. It is to be compassionate, show concern to the welfare of others and doing all that is within you to help others when they are in great need.            The parable of Jesus explained what kindness is all about. The Samaritan showed kindness to the man, he sympathized with him, took him to the hospital and paid for his bills. The levite and the priest who were believed to be closed to God and understood the ways of God better walked away neglecting the man in pains.                The parable is still relevant to what is happening in our society today. People that you expect to show kindness as a result of their belief in God are the ones that take it with levity. Those that you have written off and you consider as

Experiencing God's kindness (2)

Daily insight with God Thursday 25th June, 2020 Text: Joshua 6: 22-25, Matthew 1:5 Topic: Experiencing God's kindness (2) Key verse: But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho--and she lives among the Israelites to this day. Jos 6:25              God's kindness is not a respecter of person. To experience God's kindness, you have to believe in God and believing is not enough until your actions show that you believe. Believe without corresponding action is nothing.                Rahab was a professional prostitute, she heard about the God of Israel and she chose to believe. Her act of kindness to the spies from Israel confirmed this. This act of kindness made him a citizen of Israel, her life and that of her families were spared from destruction and she was part of the lineage of Christ.            God's kindness can be experienced if you believe and your actions corresp

Experiencing God's kindness (1)

Daily insight with God Wednesday 24th June, 2020 Text: Genesis 24:12-14 Topic: Experiencing God's kindness (1) Text: Genesis 24:12-15 Key verse: Then he prayed, O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.             Everyone desire the kindness of God and want to experience it in their life time. The kindness of God attract blessings to a Man. The kindness of God does not make one to labour without results. The kindness of God make hard tasks and what seem impossible easy and achievable. One of the ways God's kindness can be experienced on earth is through communication with him.          How can you communicate with God if you do not have a relationship with him? Eleazar was awared that his master had a fellowship with his God and  knew that God could not be separated from the success and greatness of Abraham. The task of choosing a mate for his master's son was hard, it is beyond his logical reasoning, experience and w

The kindness of God (2)

Daily insight with God Tuesday 23rd June, 2020 Text: Nehemiah 9:17 Topic: The kindness of God (2)         The kindness of God is constant, without God's kindness we would have been consumed. He did not visit us according to our sins but accepted us as we are            Nehemiah was reflecting on God's kindness to the nation of Israel as he led the nation to confession and rededication to God. God's kindness was so great to Israel that despite their rebellion, disobedience and sturbonness God  did not forsake them or rejected them as his people.           Reflecting on our personal history can certainly help us to know the kindness of God that we have experienced overtime and it will guide us in appreciating God, showing kindness to others and to avoid repeating our mistakes so that we can serve God better.  Prayer :Take time to reflect on his kindness and praise him in a big way today

The kindness of God (1)

Daily insight with God Monday 22nd June, 2020 Text: Jonah 4:2 Topic: The kindness of God (1)    Kindness is a act of being kind to others. To be kind is to be generous to others, to treat others the way you want to be treated, to show pity for others, to do good deeds to others, to be concerned about the welfare of others, to show favour to others. Kindness is an attribute of God and he is kind to all.             The kindness of God was expressed to the capital city of Assyria called Nineveh. The city was reputed to be a wicked nation and the nation of Israel had suffered so much from the wickedness of Assyrians. God in his infinite mercies and great kindness decided to save this nation, The prophet was reluctant to go and preached there but God exercised his power on the prophet, he complied, preached the word and the nation was saved.          The kindness of God that saved a reputed wicked nation can save anyone on earth. God's kindness have kept us alive till this moment for a

Patience is a Christian trait

Daily insight with God Sunday 21st June , 2020 Text:  2Thessalonians 1:1-5 Topic: Patience is a Christian trait  Key verse: so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure 2Thes 1:4           Patience is a trait of Christian who have faith in God and yield to the spirit of God in their daily walk with him. You don't learn patience or develop it. It is inborn for all believers who walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.              The church in Thessalonica was commended for the patience they displayed in the midst of trials and persecution. They persevere, instead of giving up, they left everything in God's hands and wait for his deliverance. The patience that the church displayed was as a result of their faith in Christ and obedience to the word of God which is spirit and truth.            Attitude to trials and persecution often tell whether we are believers or not. A true faith w

Run with patience (2)

Daily insight with God Saturday 20th June, 2020 Text: Hebrews 12:1-4 Topic: Run with patience (2) Key verse: And let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Heb12:1b             A long distant race is not what you run briskly but with patience. If you take it fast, you will get tired soon but if you take it slow and steady victory is ascertained. The Christian race involves enduring persecution, hardtimes, suffering without giving up till you get to the finishing line. Jesus patiently endured persecution, shame, hardship, suffering on the cross before he got the crown.              There is no crown without pains, suffering and hardship. The recipients of the Letter were facing hardtimes of persecution, none of them had yet died for their faith, because they were still alive as at the time of writing of the letter, the letter  was to encourage them not to give up just as Jesus Christ but to patiently run their race till the end.             Hardship can either pressed a Chri

Run with patience (1)

Daily Insight with God Friday 19th June 2020 Text: Hebrews 12: 1-4 Topic: Run with patience Key verse: And let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Heb 12:1b             The Christian life is synonymous to a long distance race. Long distance runners work hard to build patience and strength. On the day of race, their jerseys are usually light and at times their bodies are lean. The word race in the original Greek language means fight, conflict, contention, contest.           One of the things a Christian will contend with is besetting sins. This is the sin that easily trip a Christian up, the sin that a Christian is addicted to, his moral weakness. At salvation only the spirit is regenerated, it takes conscious efforts and diligence to get the body and the soul renewed by relying on the Holy Spirit as we yield our bodies and souls to him and resist sin like a fighter by exercising our will power in Christ who resist sin to the point where his blood was shed for humanit

Patience is holding on when the promise tarries

Daily insight with God Thursday 18th June, 2020 Text: Hebrew 10:36 Topic: Patience is holding on when the Promise tarries            It is natural for children to trust their parents eventhough parents at times do fail to keep their promises. Our father in heaven never makes promises that he will not keep though his plan may take more time than we expect            God's promises of reward are usually attached to doing his will, they may not be instant and they may linger for a while. As a result of this patience is required to obtain whatever God have promised us to do.Patience does not save us but it is a sign or evidence that we are committed to Jesus Christ.                What are you waiting for? Is it marriage partner, job, children, eternal rest?  Whatever it may be, Do not act like impatient children, wait for God's will to unfold, have confidence in God's perfect timing and wisdom. Knowing that God is fair, just, and he has not forgotten us will give us patience to

God uses delays to test our patience

Daily insight with God Wednesday 17th June, 2020 Text: 1 Samuel 13:1-13 Topic: God uses delays to test our patience Key verse: He waited there for seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul's men began to scatter. 1 Samuel 13:8           Nobody prays for delay but they are inevitable in our journey in life. It takes patience to walk with God and God is usually concern about our attitude in moment of delays. Our attitude in moment of delay usually determine the altitude we will reach in life.             Samuel had enough reasons and excuses to justify his claims but the truth remains, he had disobeyed the instruction of God because he could not stand it to see his foot soldiers rapidly slipping away in the midst of battle and customarily without sacrifice and worship to God they can't launch out against the enemy. As soon as he performed the sacrifice, Samuel came in, his excuses were not accepted, he had played God's designated role for

Patience is waiting for God's timing

Daily insight with God Tuesday 16th June, 2020 Text : Genesis 8:6-16 Topic: Patience is waiting for God's timing Key verse: He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it didn't return to him. Gen 8:12      God's timing is different from ours. God will carry out his plans in his own time according to his own purpose. It takes patience to wait for God's timing.         God led Noah into the Ark, he patiently waited for God to lead him out after he confirmed that the ground is dry. He did not step out until God told him to do so. He stayed in the ark for a year, he did not allow anxiety to push him out before time. He perfectly waited for God's timing and until God said step out, he remained in the Ark with his family. Noah trusted God, he knew God was working in his best interest and he cooperated with him by patiently waiting for the perfect timing to step out.            Let us trust God and pray for patience to hold on when the times are d

God is patient with us

Daily insight with God Monday 15th June, 2020 Text: Genesis 6: 1-8 Topic: God is patient with us Key verse: Then the LORD said " My Spirit will not contend with man for ever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years. Gen 6:3              The attribute of God is patience. His patience is greatly expressed in his dealings with us. God's patience is amazing and he will not give up on a sinner till he repents.              For one hundred and twenty years, God was giving the people of Noah's generation opportunity to repent from their evil ways. Instead of repenting, they advanced in their evil ways and take God's patience for granted until God's patience for them elapsed.              God show his great patience toward us, he is giving us luxury of time to quit our own way and choose to walk in his way. Do not postpone your salvation you never can tell when the patience of God will elapse. Turn to God and repent from your sins, your time may be ru

The Just shall live by faith

Daily insight with God Sunday 15th June, 2020 Text: Habakkuk 2: 1-4 Topic: The Just shall live by faith  Key verse: but the just shall live by his faith. Hab 2:4b             Situation and circumstances can make one doubt God and his promises especially when the darkness is thick, and the storm is raging fiercely. In a moment like this it takes a man that have deep faith in God rooted in relationship with him to still make God his anchor.              The prophet was no doubt in difficult time, evil and injustice seemed to have upper hand . People do evil and they get away with it and it is as if evil exalt people and righteousness is failing people. The prophet complained seriously to God and God's response to him was to be patient and trust in him.             The rate at which evil is done is getting unbearable and alarming just as it was in Habakkuk's time. Do not be discouraged, do not compromise your faith. Faith is a personal thing and we shall live by our faith not by o

Justified by faith

Daily insight with God  Saturday 13th June, 2020  Text: Genesis 15:1-6  Topic: Justified by faith  Key verse: Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.Gen 15 :6            We cannot be right with God with our own efforts. Our good works cannot make us right. It is only God that knows who is in right standing with him and he is the only one that can proclaim us as righteous.             God declared Abraham righteous, it was not as a result of his actions by obeying God's instructions but by believing in God. God justified Abraham as a result of believing in him that he will do what he says he will do when their are no evidences that he will do it.                You cannot be right with God without having faith in him. A right relationship is based on faith in God through Christ that God is who he is and he will do what he says he will do regardless of your situation.  Prayer: Father help me to have faith in you at all times in Jesus name.

Faith produces righteousness

Daily insight with God Friday 12th June, 2020 Text: Genesis 15 : 1-6 Topic: Faith produces righteousness.  Key verse: Abram believe the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.Gen 15:6              Righteousness emanates out of believing and trusting God. Not all actions are right, it can only be right if it is birth out of trust in God. To be righteous means to be right with God. Without faith it is impossible to please God, how can you please God without knowing the mind of God?  walking in the mind of God means to believe all what God says he is and all what he says he will do.             Faith does not make you to ignore reality or negates reality. Abram was greatly rich in wealth, influence, fame with personal armed men and several servants in his household but without a child to inherit all he had. Medically, he and his wife were aged and no hope of having a child. He had already concluded that Eliezer his oldest servant will be his heir but God said No, I have a son fo

Faith does not fear

Daily insight with God Thursday 11th June, 2020 Text:  Genesis 22: 1- 12 Topic: Faith does not fear  Key verse: Now I know that you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. Gen 22:12             Faith is fearless. Faith is always confident in any circumstance. Faith does not fear anybody but only God. Faith is committed to do only God's will. Such a fearless faith was displayed by Abraham.             Abraham was not afraid to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. Even though God had told him that " It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham demonstrated courage by taking actions to honour his commitment to God. Probably he reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again.                 Abraham was not afraid but willing to give up everything to God, he received back more than his expectations and imaginations. The reward is not always immediate but surely he will reward us here with blessings in mater

Faith does not doubt

Daily insight with God Wednesday 10th June, 2020 Text: Gen 12: 4-10 Topic: Faith does not doubt Key verse: Now there was a famine in the land, Genesis 12:10a               Faith must pass the test of doubts in the midst of trials, difficulties and challenges . A real faith does not bend to circumstances but rather it stand tall, strong and unshaken.               Abram's faith was tested. The land of abundance and fruitfulnes turned out to be a land of famine. He could have doubted God, called God a liar and returned to Haran. He did not act that way but he chose to sojourn in Egypt for a while and stayed confident in his God               Being in God's will for your life does not mean trouble will not come and when trouble comes, do not doubt God that brought you there. It is just temporary the cloud will soon be over and you will see God's hand working things out in your favour. Do not allow unforeseen situations or hard times sway you away from faith but rather have an

Your faith is rooted in your walk with God

Daily insight with God Tuesday 9th June, 2020 Text: Genesis11:27- 32, 12:1 Topic: Your faith is rooted in your walk with God  Key verse: The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. Genesis 12:1       Faith is usually placed in something that is greater than you, something that is reliable, something that have past records that it works and it still works. What we have faith in have to do with our experience with it overtime.              This is not the first time Abram had been hearing God, for someone to recognize the voice of God, it takes time, even after hearing, he took him many years before he set out because he wanted to be sure that it was God leading him. At a time he settled at Haran with his extended family with whom they have left Ur together, they thought that should be the place but Abraham was certain that the place was not God's best for him. He had to leave them there except

Where do you place your faith?

Daily insight with God Monday 8th June, 2020 Text:  Genesis 12: 1-3 Topic: Where do you place your faith?  Key verse: The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. Genesis 12:1              Faith is believing in God, it is holding God for what he says, faith is depending on God based on our relationship with him. Faith is total dependence on God and his word. Every man born of woman have faith in something but only faith in God that does not fail and attract blessings.               God told Abraham to leave Ur and go to the Land where he would show him. Abraham believed and he set out for the journey. He did not know where he was going, he was leaving certainty for uncertainty but he was assured and confident within him that God had something better for him.Abraham obeyed God because he recognized God's voice, he had a relationship with him and he knew that God can be trusted. He simply held Go

Love is a debt

Daily Insight with God Sunday 7th June,2020 Text: Romans 13 : 8-10 Topic: Love is a debt Key verse: Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another. Romans 13:8                   Jesus Christ died for all,we are indebted to him , we owe him our devotion, commitment and love. The only way our love for him can be proved is to love our neighbors as we love our selves.                         Paul explained that to love others is a obligation that must be fulfilled. We are indebted to Christ. We cannot pay the debt back but we can acknowledge the debt by showing love to everyone that come our way without showing preferences or prejudices.                         Loving others as ourselves require efforts and actions. It involves caring and meeting the needs of others as we share in their burden. It also involves  resolving in your mind to forgive all offences before it happen. Jesus forgive us  all our sins and we have no excuse not to forgive others when they

Discipline in love

Daily insight with God Saturday 6th June, 2020 Text: Hebrew 12: 5-11  Topic: Love in discipline Key verse: because the Lord disciplines those he loves, Heb 12:6a              It is often said let us correct in love but it even takes a loving person to correct. If they are not interested in your well being they would not have called your attention to your wrong doings. It takes a loving father to correct a child. God's love for us will not leave us to live our lives as we like but it will also put us in checks so that we will not end up destroying ourselves.                 Discipline is not pleasant and it can be painful at that instant but in the end we will appreciate it. Who loves his child more: the father who allow the child to endanger himself or the one who trains, rebuke or even punish the child to learn and do what is right God's discipline is a sign of his deep love for us and the right response is to gratefully accept it.               God love all but he hate sins.

Spiritual gifts without love is nothing

Daily insight with God Friday 5th June, 2020 Text: 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Topic: Spiritual gifts without love is nothing Key verse: and if I have a  faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 1Cor 13:2b              Love is preeminent than all the spiritual gifts exercised in the church. Love makes our actions and gifts beneficial to the church. Love is the Centre of Christian worship and its like a bond that binds the church together. The necessity of love cannot be underestimated or overrule by spiritual gifts and it is available to all.                Spiritual gifts are given to the church to build the church up and for the perfection of saints. The Corinthian church is  blessed with diverse of spiritual gifts but there were sexual immorality, strife, division, idolatry among them. Paul observed that Love, the fruit of the spirit that ought to guide their hearts in exercising of spiritual gifts were lacking in the church and he took his time to explain the entir

Love: The true test of discipleship

Daily insight with God Thursday 4th June 2020 Text: John 13: 31-35 Topic: Love: The true test of discipleship Key verse: By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. " John 13:35              Discipleship is a process of becoming a disciple. Disciple is someone committed to the teachings of christ and the life of christ can be seen in him. The purpose of discipleship is to become  Christ . Anyone can claim to be a disciple of Christ but the only way we can know that they are of Christ is if the love of Christ is evident in their lives.                 Jesus assured the disciples that to be part of him and for them to be identified as his disciples they need to love others as he have loved them. What you don't have, you cannot give. If you have experienced the love of Christ it is necessary for you to show the love to others. Jesus disciples are known for their Christ love, they are not known  for backbiting, cheating, envy, division and lies.

Love: Summary of the law

Daily Insight with God Wednesday 3rd June,2020 Text: Mark 12: 28-34 Topic: Love: The summary of the Law Key verse: The second is Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31                  Jesus summarised the laws into two simple instructions: love God and love others. Jesus did not come to abolish the laws but rather came to fulfill it and demonstrated to us how to do likewise.                 Jesus was confronted by one of the teachers of the law with a simple but technical question. Jesus's response to the question was also simple but technical. Love God and love others. The teacher further explained the technicality involved Which is ” There is only one God and no other. It is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbour as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required by the law”                 Understanding of the te

God's expression of love

Daily insight with God Tuesday 2nd June 2020 Text: John 3: 16 Topic: God's expression of Love              Love is giving oneself to others, It is hard to love without giving. You can give without loving but it is difficult to love without giving. The magnitude of the giving have to do with how much you love the person and when the magnitude is big in relation to the worth of the person we call it a sacrifice. The only visible test to know that you love a person is through giving which is not only material but immaterial such as time, counsel and so on.                 God's love for humanity made him created them and when they fell away he made a provision for them by giving them his only son to die and took away their sins so they could be at peace with him. Love cost him his only son. He killed his son for you and me so that we can have a deeper fellowship with him. His love was not selfish, all he did was because of us, he had nothing to loose if all perish but his love cou

What is real love?

Daily insight with God Monday 1st June, 2020 Text:1 John 3: 11-18  Topic: What is real love ?  Key verse: Dear children. Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3: 18              As the world is getting perverse by the day likewise the word love has been abused and misconstrued to be what it is not. This has resulted into confusion as to what real love is. What the world called love is not real because it is impossible for an unregenerated soul to express true love.          Thought produces words and words produces actions. Cain's thoughts were likely not right with Abel all the while though he may confessed right words but one day his actions revealed his thoughts  when he murdered his brother.  It is just a matter of time our actions will reflect our state of mind either it is pure or evil.            Real love is in actions and it is beyond feelings and communication of feelings.  It is  putting the desires of others ahead of you. It is  givi
