TEXT: GENESIS 34: 1- 5
TOPIC: PEER INFLUENCE (3)
KEY VERSE: GENESIS 34:1
Now Dinah, the daughter Leah had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land.
The quality of your friends will determine how how far you will go in life. Taking a step forward and two steps backward is an evidence of mixed associations in life. Who are your friends? The greatest influence over a man is his friend and bad friend corrupt good manners.
Dinah was the only daughter of Jacob. She found company among the unrighteous and in one of her visits to the young women in the city, the Prince of the city seized Dinah and raped her. After that he made a move to marry her because he was in love with her. The children of Jacob were very angry because they found it so disgusting for a daughter of Jacob to be defiled just like that.Simeon and Levi took it upon themselves and killed the prince, the king and all the men in that city. This action made Jacob to leave the city for another place.
This was the last time we heard about Dinah. One single mistake of wrong companionship cost her purity, and lives were lost. Be wise in choosing friends, if you must have friends choose from those of the household of faith who are believers and adhere to Christian values and beliefs.
Prayer: Father separate me from every wrong friends influencing my life negatively in Jesus name.
