Overcoming Addiction (2)
DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD
MONDAY 10TH MARCH, 2025
TEXT: Isaiah 49:24-26
[24]Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
[25]But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
[26]And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
TOPIC: OVERCOMING ADDICTION (2)
Addiction do not start in a day. It is a long time indulgence and their captives have great affinity for them to the extent that they can’t just stop even when they know that alcohol or substance consumption is injurious to their health.
The path to freedom start from the captive to recognise and know that he is indeed a captive of addiction. Some still see addiction as a necessary evil that they need to manage, live and cope with. Until you tell yourself you are in captivity and willing to come out of it , there may not be freedom.
Prayer: Father help me to realize my sinfulness state in Jesus name.
