DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD

WEDNESDAY 19TH FEBRUARY, 2025

TEXT: Acts 12:1-3

[1]Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

[2]And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

[3]And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

TOPIC: WHEN SERVING GOD PUT YOU INTO TROUBLE.

The church of God have been subjected to attacks, persecution and resistance right from her establishment. As the church is advancing, resistance is also on the rise but the joy is that persecution has never overwhelmed the church. Service and devotion to God have put many into trouble, some came out of it alive, some came out of it wounded while some died in it. If there is anything common to them all, they all hold on to faith in the midst of troubles.

James lost his life as a result of his devotion to God. He died in the trouble, not that he did not pray but God allowed it. His death eventually led to the expansion of the gospel. As believers we should be courageous and be prepared to face any trouble that comes our way in the course of our devotion to him on earth. A fearless Christian who is not afraid of the troubles of the world will surely be an overcomer in Christ.

Prayer: Father help me not to be afraid of any trouble that may come my way in Jesus name.
