TEXT: 2nd Kings 6:27

 And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

TOPIC: LET GOD BE YOUR HELP 

         Help is from the Lord. No one can help you except God instruct the person to help you. Man is usually limited but God is unlimited.God is the immediately help in time of need. 

      Samaria was besieged by the Syrian Army which resulted into famine to the extent that a donkey head was sold for 80 shekels and 5 shekels for a bowl of field greens. People resulted into killing of their children for food, the king passed by, a woman cried out for help because her son had been killed, feasted on by her and her neighbor who promised that she would release her son the next day to be fed on as agreed. Her neighbor disagreed. This made her cried out to the king for help because their means of helping each other has failed.The king was sad and told the woman that he was helpless except God intervene. 

         Men cannot be trusted for help because they can fail. Only God is not limited and cannot fail to render help to you in moment of great need. Instead of crying out to man for help, start crying to God for help and he will surely help you in his own time. Your help comes from the Lord and he will not withhold it from you if you cry on to him.

Prayer: Father help me to see you as my help in moment of great need in Jesus name.

We are all faced with the decision of either to honour God or men in our place of work and neighborhood. A Christian brother resigned from his lucrative job because he could not Compromise by taking bribes at his place of work and after a while God compensated him with a better job . The midwives in our text today also had a similar experience, Pharoah told them to kill the male child but they feared God by preserving the male child and God in return blessed them greatly. Our society would have changed for the best today if only the Christians like the midwives will fear God in places they find themselves. Fear of God brings blessings and fruitfulness, let us begin to fear God in all our endeavours, in doing so we will become light to the dark world. Prayer: Lord help me to fear you at all times in Jesus name

Tuesday 23rd July, 2019 Topic: Divine assurance Text: Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. God was assuring David guidance, protection, and counsel. We do not know the way to fulfillment of our destiny, the road map is in God’s hands and except we seek him, find him, have him as our father,this divine assurance can never be ours. God have a path which he expected us to follow, no matter how wise you may be, you cannot know the way except you surrender all to him. God’s assurance is for every believer today who have made God his father and have made resolution within him to follow the path God have marked for him to fulfill his destiny.
