INCOMPLETE OBEDIENCE

THURSDAY 9TH DECEMBER,2021

TEXT: JUDGES 2: 1-5

KEY VERSE: Jdg 2:3 Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you; they will be thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you."

TOPIC: INCOMPLETE OBEDIENCE

        Obedience to God should not be partial but total. Partial obedience is when you obey God in a way that is convenient for you. Total obedience is when you completely submit to God's instructions. 

     The instructions given to tribes of Israel was to wipe away the cannanites and the surrounding nations. Joshua had shared the unconquered territories to them with a mandate to wipe them out according to God's instructions. The tribes became weary along the way, they destroyed the strong and subdued the weak but the instructions was wiped them all. After a while when they have settled with them after making a diplomatic treat with the unconquered nations. God sent his angel to deliver his message to them that he would no longer drive them away again but the unconquered nations would be a snare and thorn in their flesh. 

        God demand total obedience from us, partial obedience is equivalent to disobedience as far as God is concerned. The consequences of disobedience is usually bitter, painful and regretful. What has God told you to do? Obey him completely and you will be glad you do.

Prayer: I receive grace to obey God completely in Jesus name.

17th January, 2020 Topic :Fear God Text: Exodus 1:17   To fear God is to respect God, honour God and keep his commandments. We are all faced with the decision of either to honour God or men in our place of work and neighborhood. A Christian brother resigned from his lucrative job because he could not Compromise by taking bribes at his place of work and after a while God compensated him with a better job . The midwives in our text today also had a similar experience, Pharoah told them to kill the male child but they feared God by preserving the male child and God in return blessed them greatly. Our society would have changed for the best today if only the Christians like the midwives will fear God in places they find themselves. Fear of God brings blessings and fruitfulness, let us begin to fear God in all our endeavours, in doing so we will become light to the dark world. Tuesday 23rd July, 2019 Topic: Divine assurance Text: Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. God was assuring David guidance, protection, and counsel. We do not know the way to fulfillment of our destiny, the road map is in God’s hands and except we seek him, find him, have him as our father,this divine assurance can never be ours. God have a path which he expected us to follow, no matter how wise you may be, you cannot know the way except you surrender all to him. God’s assurance is for every believer today who have made God his father and have made resolution within him to follow the path God have marked for him to fulfill his destiny.
