TEXT: Jdg 2: 11- 14

 KEY VERSE: Jdg 2:14

In his anger against Israel the LORD handed them over to raiders who plundered them. He sold them to their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.

TOPIC: A FAILED GENERATION

Teachers usually prefer a graduating class to another because they are exceptional and take their studies seriously unlike others despite putting the same efforts. Generations too differ. There are generations that deliberately choose their own paths without following the path of their fathers. It might not be their fathers did not teach them or model faith to them but they chose their own paths. 

   These generations are failed generations but to them they are better off. They see their father ways as archaic and not contemporary. They set their own standards and their own standards is the best. God dealt with them in their own ways, he raised an enemy against them, his hands were against them and they fell flat before their enemies till they realized their failures and turn to God. Are you following the standard of God or that of men? Have you removed the ancient landmarks? Check your life and repent where necessary.

Prayer: Father help me not to be victim of the decay of this world in Jesus name.

We are all faced with the decision of either to honour God or men in our place of work and neighborhood. A Christian brother resigned from his lucrative job because he could not Compromise by taking bribes at his place of work and after a while God compensated him with a better job . The midwives in our text today also had a similar experience, Pharoah told them to kill the male child but they feared God by preserving the male child and God in return blessed them greatly. Our society would have changed for the best today if only the Christians like the midwives will fear God in places they find themselves. Fear of God brings blessings and fruitfulness, let us begin to fear God in all our endeavours, in doing so we will become light to the dark world. Prayer: Lord help me to fear you at all times in Jesus name

Tuesday 23rd July, 2019 Topic: Divine assurance Text: Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. God was assuring David guidance, protection, and counsel. We do not know the way to fulfillment of our destiny, the road map is in God’s hands and except we seek him, find him, have him as our father,this divine assurance can never be ours. God have a path which he expected us to follow, no matter how wise you may be, you cannot know the way except you surrender all to him. God’s assurance is for every believer today who have made God his father and have made resolution within him to follow the path God have marked for him to fulfill his destiny.
