Text: Luke 10:29-37
Topic: Showing God's kindness to others(1)
Key verse: But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. Luke 10:33
Kindness is love in action. It is to be compassionate, show concern to the welfare of others and doing all that is within you to help others when they are in great need.
The parable of Jesus explained what kindness is all about. The Samaritan showed kindness to the man, he sympathized with him, took him to the hospital and paid for his bills. The levite and the priest who were believed to be closed to God and understood the ways of God better walked away neglecting the man in pains.
The parable is still relevant to what is happening in our society today. People that you expect to show kindness as a result of their belief in God are the ones that take it with levity. Those that you have written off and you consider as unbelievers are the one showing kindness. Our belief in God should propel us to show kindness to others around us who are in great need. If we fail to show kindness to others around us, our salvation and belief is questionable.
Prayer: Father Let your Spirit of kindness rest on me in Jesus name
