Topic: Rebecca - epitome of a virtuous mother
Text: Genesis 27: 1-13
Memory verse: His mother said to him, "my son, let the curse fall on me. Just do what I say;go and get them for me."
One of the recent biblical archeological discoveries is a fired clay which was the seal of contract between Esau and Jacob concerning the sales of Esau's birthright to Jacob
It has always been a question what kind of sweet porridge that will make a man to give out his birthright and what kind of hunger will make a man give out his birthright? The seal of agreement found gives light to it that Esau did it deliberately because it is a long process for a clay to be fired, for a seal of contract to be written on it and yet despite the hunger he waited for it without dying of hunger. This attest to the fact that Esau had no value or regard for this birthright.
Rebecca was a psychologist and a woman of great virtue and understanding. She knew Esau was such a rascal that has no value for birthright and do not deserve to carry the Abrahamic covenant, Isaac was blind to all these and Rebecca became a tool to accomplish God's purpose.  Mother should be able to discern and understand the kind of children they have. Rebecca was good at this.
Motherhood is a gift and role that God has given to women. Let us play this role in such a way that heaven will be happy and we will not be judged on the last day.
Prayer point: Lord please do not put me in darkness concerning the issues of my life in Jesus name
