Topic: when the presence of the Lord departs.
Text: 1 Samuel 4: 1-22
Golden text: the glory of the Lord has departed 1 Samuel 4: 21
Take consecration from the man of God and he becomes an ordinary man. Consecration is very important, only God consecrates and when he consecrated a man it is expected for those men to discipline themselves by saying no to sin.
Hophni and Phineas were priests dedicated and consecrated for God's service. They were also sons of a great prophet and judge of Israel. They had all what it took to be great and respected priests of God but these men failed to discipline themselves and they eventually became prey to the Devils.  Every child of God posses the presence of God, this is God's glory that the devil dreads but sin deactivate God's glory in men. Hophni and Phineas had been living immoral life as priests but when the duty called for them to carry the ark which was one of the duties of their offices, they were quick to carry the ark to the battle field but unknown to them that the presence of God had departed from them and they died in the battle. Have you been playing with your consecration by sinning wilfully, repent from it today before it is too late.
Prayer: Lord Jesus help me not to get involve in sins that will make your presence and glory to depart from me in Jesus name
