Praising God in difficult times

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD

SUNDAY 16TH FEBRUARY, 2025

TEXT: Acts 16:23-28

[23]And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

[24]Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

[25]And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

[26]And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

[27]And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

[28]But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

TOPIC: PRAISING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES

It is common to see people praising God in good times but it is rare to see people praising God in hard times. Paul and Silas had a difficult day, they were arrested and jailed for casting out a familiar spirit that fetched money for the master of the possessed lady who was pained for losing his source of business. He set and framed them up which led to their incarceration.

Paul and Silas could have given up because God led them there and right there they were jailed. Instead of blaming God for bringing them there or complained about their predicament. They chose to thank God and prayed. The results was that God came to their rescue and the prison doors was opened with chains broken. When you don’t feel like praising God or praying to him that is when you should praise him more. Praise do move the hands of God when all hope is lost.

Prayer: praise God concerning that stubborn situation.
