A power drunk king

DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD

SUNDAY 29TH DECEMBER,2024

TEXT: Matthew 2:3,16

[3]When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

[16]Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.

TOPIC: A POWER DRUNK KING

        Monarchy in the Roman empire was characterised with authority , power, corruption and influence. Herod was a king of that region answerable to the roman empire. The kingship was by family line. He was disturbed by the news that a new king has been born . He knew the wise men were right. He was determined to kill Jesus because of his children. He knew the baby can’t be King while he was still alive. He wanted him out because he wanted his children to inherit his throne. He was so power drunk that he ordered killing of little children.

       He was so intoxicated by power that he can do anything to retain the throne for his children. Being power drunk can make a man to do irrational things like killing little babies. In whatever position you find yourself , remember you are there for a reason, do not let power get into your heads and start treating people like slaves. Power intoxicate like alcohol but keep yourselves under the checks of the Holy Spirit .

Prayer: Father help me to subject myself under the leading of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name

The LORD is in his sanctuary (3)

TOPIC: THE LORD IS IN HIS SANCTUARY (3)            The presence of God makes a difference between a church and any other place. In God’s presence there is peace, deliverance, and fullness of Joy. In the old Testament, men of faith often raise up an altar to symbolize his presence and praise him there. The church is the modern day temple where there are altars set up to meet God. No one can come to God’s presence and return empty handed.          Many a times when people come to church without experiencing a touch, it is because they do not come with expectations of receiving from God. Your vision will speak

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY 4TH JANUARY, 2025 TEXT: Habakkuk 2:3 [3]For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. TOPIC: YOUR VISION WILL SPEAK          Vision is time bound. Writing down of vision, planning, setting out to fulfill the goals are all processes that are necessary before vision can become a reality.        Your vision will definitely speak, if only you can wait for it. Great things do not usually happen suddenly. There is a moment to plant, watered and patiently wait for it to germinate. The bigger the vision, the bigger the time it would take to become a reality. Do not give up on your vision , it will speak at the appropriate time. Prayer: Father help me to patiently wait for me vision to become a reality in Jesus name.
