And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON (1)
The fatherhood of God was illustrated in this parable and it is full of practical lessons for believers. God is a father who will not withhold anything good from his children. The prodigal son knew the worth of his father, he was aware of his portion with him and at a time he humbly requested for his own portion. His father did not deny him his request, he knew that he was mature enough to handle his allocation.
God is a giver of all good things. He is a father and knows what you actually need to survive in life. God will not give you your portion if you do not ask. Do not assume that he knows and he will give you. The reason Jesus Christ said “ask and it shall be given to you”. That great need of yours, have you talked to God about it, he will not deny you if it aligns with his will. Children always ask from their fathers. God is your father, make it an habit of always asking everything you need from him and you will experience unspeakable joy in doing this.
Action point: God is your father and he will not deprive you the rights of asking him all you need from him .
Prayer: Father help me to know that you are my father and I am your child in Jesus name.
