CONTENTMENT (2)
DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD
TUESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2020
TEXT: 2 KINGS 5: 20-27
TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (2)
KEY VERSE: 2 Kings 5:27
The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
Contentment is not base on the amount of wealth we have. When we put riches at the zenith of our value system, we let power, pleasure and financial security overshadow the eternal value of our relationship with God.
Gehaz was a personal assistant to Elisha. He served him faithfully, position in a way to succeed his master, he witnessed great dealings of God through Elisha, he enjoyed his influence until he became dissatisfied with the simplicity of his master and used his influence to amass wealth from General Naaman who had sought healing from the God of Israel. This did not go well with his master and he placed him together with his descendants on curse of leprosy.
Failure to be contented with what you have will make you loose more than you covet. Do not allow personal gain, riches, wealth becomes more important to you than service to God. You will find contentment if you place your relationship with God above earthly riches.
Prayer: Father help me not to place riches and personal gains above my relationship with you in Jesus name.
