CONTENTMENT (1)

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD

MONDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER, 2020

TEXT: MATTHEW 20:13-16

TOPIC: CONTENTMENT (1)

KEY VERSE: Take your pay and go. Matt 20:14a

Contentment is to be satisfied and happy with what you have without envying or resenting what others have.

In the text, the servant was not happy about his pay check. He felt there was no fair remuneration . "If he had been working since early hours of the day, how come will he collect the same pay with someone that joined at five pm". The owner of the Estate did not go into unnecessary explanation about his actions because he is the owner of the Estate and have the power and right to do what he wants with his money. He only told the servant you agreed to work for a denarius per day, take your paycheck and go.

The disgruntled workers had been happy and satisfied until they started poke nosing into their colleagues pay checks. They became jealous and resentment set in. When you fail to be contented with what God have blessed you with. You will be robbed of your peace and joy. The secret of contentment is to choose to be happy with what you have and enjoy it while you live. Are you caught in the web of discontentment, simply let go of envy, look within and see what God has done for you, and start enjoying your blessings.

Prayer: Father help me to be satisfied with all you have blessed me with in Jesus name.
