Except your righteousness exceed that of Pharisees and the scribes

TEXT: MATTHEW 5: 20

Matthew 5:20

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

TOPIC: Except your righteousness exceed that of Pharisees and the Scribes.

           The Pharisees were the most Celebrated religionist and righteous people of Jesus's time.People saw them as model of righteousness. The scribes were like the most noted teachers while the  Pharisees were like professors of it. They had good reputation among people and people looked up to them for how to live right in the society. Jesus astonished his audience when he said that their righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees and Scribes for them to go through the kingdom of God.

          The Pharisees and scribes were the antagonist and enemies of Jesus's doctrines yet Jesus saw some good in them such as giving of alms, fasting, prayer, punctuality in observing ceremonial appointments, commitment to teach others. Jesus said their righteousness is not good enough because it is more of obeying the law outwardly without allowing God to change their heart.

          Their purpose of keeping the laws is to appear good or righteous to people whereas their keeping the laws should emanate out of love, devotion and allegiance to God. Jesus demand that our righteousness come from him not set of dos and donts but from a heart that have been totally surrendered for him to work through in power and holiness. 

Prayer: Lord Jesus continue to be my righteousness as I continually depend on you in Jesus name.

Your vision will speak

 DAILY INSIGHT WITH GOD SATURDAY 4TH JANUARY, 2025 TEXT: Habakkuk 2:3 [3]For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. TOPIC: YOUR VISION WILL SPEAK          Vision is time bound. Writing down of vision, planning, setting out to fulfill the goals are all processes that are necessary before vision can become a reality.        Your vision will definitely speak, if only you can wait for it. Great things do not usually happen suddenly. There is a moment to plant, watered and patiently wait for it to germinate. The bigger the vision, the bigger the time it would take to become a reality. Do not give up on your vision , it will speak at the appropriate time. Prayer: Father help me to patiently wait for me vision to become a reality in Jesus name.
