Text: Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish." Esther 4:16
Topic: The faithfulness of Esther
Faithfulness involves being courageous and willingness to risk our security, reputation, position, influence, wealth in the course of serving God when situation call for it. The life of Esther portrayed her as a woman who was faithful to God and willing to sacrifice her life for the benefit of her people. It takes an extra ordinary woman with an extraordinary faith to do this.
Esther was conscious that God was responsible for her greatness, she knew without God she could have remained a slave and when the time came for the Jews to be exterminated, she was sensitive to know probably that was the reason why she was in the political scene at that time. Her act of prayer and devotion to the task seen in her planning shows that she believed in God and her actions did no prove otherwise. It was a critical moment in her lifetime and in the history of Israel and she maintained her faith in God by identifying with her people and their God when she could have acted otherwise.
We are in a selfish world where many are more concerned about themselves and their family only. True faith care for others and always willing to risk their lives for their benefits. When you are faced with crises in life get to know what God want you to do, do it and be confident that God will do his own part. Believe in God and knows fully hat he is in control nothing meets him unaware and he is always steps ahead of every situation
Prayer: Lord Jesus help me to be concerned about the welfare of people under the circumspect of my influence in Jesus name.
