TOPIC: TEMPERANCE IS CONTROL OVER YOUR APPETITE
KEY VERSE: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Prov 23:2
Temperance is taking responsibility over your appetite. It is saying no to greediness and desire to eat more than necessary wherever you find yourself.
The Hebrew word used for appetite means flesh, the flesh always want more, the flesh may whisper to you in an occasion where they declare surplus to eat more than enough and pack home since you will not be coming tomorrow.
Yielding to flesh is sin and overeating may cause harm to your health. It is wisdom to yield to Spirit of God by putting knife to the throat. Putting knife to the throat simply means to eat in moderation, taking only what is necessary and leave the rest.
Prayer:Father help me to subject my appetite to control in Jesus name.
