Faith is usually placed in something that is greater than you, something that is reliable, something that have past records that it works and it still works. What we have faith in have to do with our experience with it overtime.
This is not the first time Abram had been hearing God, for someone to recognize the voice of God, it takes time, even after hearing, he took him many years before he set out because he wanted to be sure that it was God leading him. At a time he settled at Haran with his extended family with whom they have left Ur together, they thought that should be the place but Abraham was certain that the place was not God's best for him. He had to leave them there except Lot his Nephew who Clung to him no wonder he told his Servant some years later not to take Isaac back to Haran where he had left.
Our faith is rooted in relationship with God, if you don't walk with God,it will be very difficult for you to know and recognize his voice not to talk of yielding to his voice. Your faith have something to do with your experience in your walk with God. This does not have to do with how many years you have been born again but how much time you spend in his presence and to what extent you allow the word of God to change you.
Prayer: Father help me to walk closely with you so that my faith can be deeply rooted in you in Jesus name.
