Text:Judges 12:1-3
Topic:Take your life into your hands.
Golden Text: when I saw that you would not help, I took my life in my hands and crossed over to fight the Ammonites. Judges 12:3
A story was told of a boy after finishing his high school, his parents could not afford to sponsor him through tertiary education, he was willing and determined to be a university graduate, everywhere he turned to there was no help. He became a bus conductor in the city and out of his earnings he sponsored himself through the university and eventually now a Professor.
In our text, Jephtah faced the Ammonites all alone without help from neighboring tribe, Ephraim. He called on them but he was turned down and decided to take his life into his hands by crossing over to fight the Ammonites and God gave him victory. He could have stayed back and remain slave to the Ammonites with his people but when God saw his act of bravery, he crowned his efforts with victory.
Have you been failed by those you rely on to help you out? Do not be weary, take your destiny into your hands, launch out in faith and God will help you. Until you take that step you may not see the hand of God. God is willing to help you if only you can be responsible for your life and stop blaming others for your situation and take corresponding actions that will help you out of that helpless situation.
Prayer : Father arise in your mercies and help me out of every helpless situation in Jesus name.
