Topic: Danger of permissive will. (1)
Text: 1 Samuel 8: 4-18
Golden text: Give us a king to lead us 1 Samuel 8:6
A story was told of a Christian brother who wanted to get a car, he told his pastor and they both agreed to trust God together for it. In the process of time the brother told pastor that he was ready to buy a fairly used car. The pastor told him that have you forgotten so soon that God said he will give you a brand new car but he replied pastor, sir we both know that I can't afford a new car. He eventually bought a fairly used car, three months after he had an accident with the car and miraculous he escaped death but the car was a total write off. His pastor visited him in the hospital, it was then he remembered God's words to him through the Pastor.
Most times we take God's permissiveness as God's will and this is very dangerous. The Israelites wanted a king and God made them see the consequences yet they still wanted king and God permitted them. When a man keep disturbing God for his own personal selfish interest, at times God allows them and this usually comes with dangers. God is a loving God, he sees the end from the beginning, at times when he say no to your will not that he hate you but he wants the best for you.
Lord Jesus help me to accept your will in all situations in Jesus name
