Topic: David mourned Abner's death
Text: 2 Samuel 3:31-38
Golden text: The king sang his lament for Abner. 2 Samuel 3:33
It is very unusual and uncommon for a man to mourn his enemy but David mourned Abner because he was a general, commander of the army of Israel whom God had used to win several battles for his father's land. He lamented so much for him that people were pleased that this is the man worthy to be king over us and they knew he was innocent about Abner's death.
David could have ordered the killings of Joab and his brother but they were too strong for him. Moreover they were children of his aunty. All he could do was to hand over their judgement to God.
Have a large heart to accommodate people, do not pull people down to get to the top let God himself place you at the top.
Prayer: father give me a large heart to accept all in Jesus name
