Topic: When your Samuel delays
Text: 1 Samuel 13:1-14
Golden Text: And he tarried seven days according to the set time that Samuel had appointed : but Samuel came not to Gilgal : and the people were scattered from him. 1 Samuel 13:8
A story was told of a fervent Christian who waited several years trusting God for a life partner but eventually gave up and married a Muslim out of frustration.
Many a times, Christian gave up like this sister in our story when their expectations was delayed. Saul was also in this situation, he waited seven days for Samuel but he didn't show up and out of disappointment and failure. Saul offered sacrifice which Samuel should offer and this attracted the anger of God and his Kingdom could no longer continue. When your Samuel delayed, what should be your response? Hold on to God and his promises. Do not go for alternatives, God knows the best, when he delays, he have something great for you and only the patient can obtain God's promises. God's delays are not denials. Have faith in him and do not compromise no matter how long the delay may be.
Prayer: Lord Jesus help me to hold on to you regardless the delays i may experience in life in Jesus name
