Topic: Danger of permissive will.(2)
 Text: 1 Samuel 8: 19-22
Golden text: The LORD answered,  "listen to them and give them a king."  1 Samuel 8:22
A story was told of a student who was copying his friend in an examination and after the examination he went back to his friend and told him "thank you for allowing me to copy you" but his friend smiled and told him that did you realized that our questions were of different types, he shouted in pains why did you allow me to copy from you and he said I permitted you because because I wanted you to fail honorably so that you can learn your lesson in a hard way.
The Israelite wanted to be like other nations and demanded for a king to rule over them despite God telling them all the dangers involved there, they still optioned for a king which eventually they suffered. When you asked for something and God said no, he simply have the best for you, he sees the end from the beginning, permitting you to have your way does not mean that is the will of God for you. Let God's will be done in every area of your life so that you will not regret your actions in the long run.
Prayer: Lord let your will be done in my life and do not allow me to have my way in Jesus name
